Training
DTIRP provides training to help DoD and defense contractor facilities prepare for and host on-site inspection activities conducted by foreign inspection teams for the purpose of verifying compliance with arms control treaties and agreements.
Tailored DTIRP Training
Extensive treaty implementation experience, in-depth familiarity with all arms control agreements, and access to a wide variety of government agencies and personnel allow DTIRP to offer tailored training to fit specific facility needs. The content, length, and location of the training can be customized to meet the requirements of the requesting facility.
DTIRP has provided tailored arms control implementation training for the Military Services, the Joint Chiefs of Staff organization (JCS), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and other DoD customers. One example of this kind of training is the Treaty Compliance Officers’ Training (TCO) Program.
The TCOs’ Training Program is a joint DTIRP-U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency effort delivering focused training to all categories of facility personnel involved in inspections at Army facilities declared under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). A modular program of instruction allows customized training packages to be set up specifically for each facility and training session. The course provides detailed, role-specific orientation, training, and follow-on refreshers to support U.S. treaty implementation obligations, while maintaining Army and facility safety and security requirements.
