Services

Inspection Security Support

Inspection Support

DTIRP provides inspection security support to sites impacted by a number of arms control treaties and agreements. These agreements include the CWC, the Treaty on Open Skies, the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), and (prospectively) nuclear safeguards agreements with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). At present, most on-site inspection activities occurring in the United States are conducted under the CWC, START, and the Treaty on Open Skies.

Inspection support includes being part of the advance team sent to assist facilities with site preparation activities and being part of the host team responsible for managing the inspection process and escorting the members of the inspection team.

Site Assistance Visits

Site assistance visits provide focused, practical assistance to facilities with a known inspection liability or concern. During these visits, countermeasures experts provide advice on developing and applying appropriate and cost-effective security countermeasures to protect national security, proprietary, and other sensitive information during on-site inspection activities and overflight missions.
